Have you had a baby and no longer want to return back to work? Did you imagine yourself working your way up the corporate ladder until a tiny little nugget stole your heart?
But are you afraid of giving up that steady income?
Hi! I’m Amanda, new mom here. I thought I’d be a corporate lifer until I had a baby and everything changed. I’ll tell you my story, and how you too, can start working towards ditching that full-time job for the flexibility you’ve always dreamed of.
This is me. I graduated with a Masters degree, obtained my CPA license, worked 10 years for a big accounting firm, and spent 5 years living in Amsterdam and London doing what I thought was the most important work.
I was sure that climbing the corporate ladder and breaking glass ceilings was going to bring me money, prestige and happiness.
That’s until I met my husband in London. He had an entirely different outlook on life, and after some time together, I too, saw that there was more to life than a 70-hour a week corporate job offered. Because we had both been smart (dare I say stingy) with money, we took some time off to backpack through Asia. The more of the world I saw, the less impressed I was with the stressful life I had been living.
During our travels I focused on restoring me and discovering my passions. I did intensive yoga training, cooking classes and spent quiet hours reading and meditating. I loved the food, people and was fascinated by the beauty rituals from each country we visited. Things seemed simpler, and once we returned to the US to start our future together, I knew I was not willing to sacrifice my precious life anymore. And that is when I found a highly regarded network marketing beauty company. I had never considered network marketing, but it comes with flexibility, income and fun, all the things I was looking for.
So in 2016 I started my business. And for a couple years I did it alongside my (new, less stressful) full-time job and had pretty good success: a few hundred to a over a thousand dollars a month. Not bad I thought!
But then everything changed. When I got pregnant in 2017, I realized that I wanted to take this network marketing gig to the next level. No longer did I want to supplement my full-time income, I wanted to replace it. When my daughter was born in 2018, and I saw those big brown eyes, tons of dark wavy hair, I fell in love so hard! I flipped it into high gear and found real actionable ways to turn this hobby into a sustainable, income-producing job that I adore, and I haven’t looked back since.
Why Should You Do Something Out of Your Comfort Zone?
I took a chance on this thing called network marketing. It wasn’t a dramatic decision, and I didn’t have to make a huge investment. All it took was me finding something I’m passionate about and saying “YES” because I was motivated to change my future. I believe if you do something that makes you happy and have a powerful “WHY,” that success will follow. At the moment that I decided that there was nothing I wanted more than to have the flexibility to spend more time with my daughter, I really started making things happen. Not only do I want to do things with her like take her to the zoo, or travel to Europe. I also want her to look up to me as a person who loves what she does, provides for her family and is a great mom (most of the time) 🙂 I want her to know that she too, can have dreams and do what she puts her mind to, even if she has been on a different path for years. Because once I finally put my mind to this, I was on my way to achieving the freedom I had been looking for.
What Network Marketing Did For Me (And What It Can Do For You)
Well, the obvious benefit from my network marketing business is a steady income from month to month. Even when I’m busy doing other stuff, like raising an awesome daughter, the money still comes in due to the relationships I’ve built. Now that’s truly the power of passive income. And that is only the beginning. My business has also given me:
- friendship with a tribe of amazing women who share my passions of beauty, entrepreneurship (and now motherhood!)
- flexibility to work where and when I want so I can spend more time with my family (including my fur baby)
- the realization that I truly can make my passion into a flourishing business
It’s also helped me rediscover me. As a mom of a newborn, do you sometimes feel like you are tethered to your baby and have lost a little bit of your identity? But now that I’ve taken charge of my future and am setting an example for my daughter (and maybe future kids), I feel so much more empowered, motivated and proud I can still contribute to the family.
You – Yes YOU, Can Do This Too
You might be thinking – I just had a baby. I don’t have time for this. But if you want it bad enough you CAN, and if you stick with me, I will coach you to succeed by giving you the exact steps I took. In fact, I wanted it so bad that I created most of this blog while my daughter was nursing and napping. #MomsCanDoItAll
I know there are so many others who may have always planned to go back to work but after having a baby, now want more time freedom and income to avoid missing out on precious time with your kids that you’ll never get back. My goal is to help as many women as possible realize that if staying home with the babes is something you want, it’s within your reach. You really CAN start spending more time with your families and friends, while bringing in a real income too.
So let’s do this together! Allow me to guide you to what you want…to be that kick-ass mom that gets to spend time with her babes rather than at the office. I’d love to know more about you now. Click over here and tell me a little bit about yourself!
